Hello everyone!

Just a quick heads up that we've applied the upgrade to 0.18.1 which resolves a lot of performance and federation issues.

Let us know if you run into any new problems!

Feels snappy. That database work they did is pretty nice. Thanks for the work you do, admin team.

The theme updates are pretty slick, too.

Nice! I'm super happy with this release because it fixes two major annoyances with the previous version.

  1. Voting on a comment no longer expands all previously collapsed comments.
  2. Going back to the home page by pressing the browser's back button no longer goes to the top of the page.

The other UI tweaks are nice too. Lemmy is becoming a really good website and I am grateful to you guys for hosting this instance.

I like that clicking on Next actually starts at the top of the page for me now instead of in the middle somewhere

Nice, I can now subscribe to remove communities again! For the past few days it was just unclickable "Subscribe" text. Also loving the new "Compact" theme.

I'll echo the sentiments of others in that darkly compact is a very welcome theme option. I think I'm mostly just happy to see a theme that isn't some mobile first trash.
