If America was a sane place with a sane people they would have dragged Trump out of the White House by his ear the moment they began sending immigrants, even legal ones, to concentration camps. But that didn't happen.
If it were a sane place, Trump would never have made it to the white house in the first place. We're so far beyond any semblance of sane.
And rest of the world has lost their hopes for America.
And none of this matters because of by some miracle this fascist doesn't fascist this country, the next, more competent fascist from the fascist party will take to where Trump left off because they'll always vote the hard R.
It's all about emotions and in-group belonging. All of us are subject to that, to some extent. But for some people it's the dominant force in their lives. I don't know how to fix that, because it seems kind of deeply baked in.
Maybe the left needs more flag waving and American exceptionalism. While dumb, it tickles the in-group need; if pageantry is enough to sway some large portion of the population towards a better future then maybe it’s worthwhile.

I remember 2016 being the 'Worst Year Ever' because Prince, David Bowie and Carrie Fisher, amongst others, died. What sweet, summer children we all were.
Despite any misgivings republicans might say for a poll, had they asked if they would rather have a democrat in office, the pool would be 90% plus in favor of Trump. It’s simply the way they ask the questions.
These people can try to pretend they are hemming and hawing over these things, but as long as it is their guy doing it, they are ok with it.
Trump is killing people and kids and the best they can do is say they don’t think he is focusing on the right things and these surveys are somehow supposed to show how badly he is doing. These people don’t give a shit and are complicit. They think they are absolved by not approving.

Main problem with the biggest nations is that they are ruled by old men that know they are going to die soon anyway.
China, Russia, US all have old leaders who try to write their name in history books by any means necessary. They do not fear death, since they know it’s not far whatever they do.
In most countries nations have a lower limit of age that a leader must be, they also should have an upper limit.

Actually looks really similar to his first term, I would have thought it'd be a lot worse.
