Let's find some new communities!

This is a bot-fed community for finding new communities to subscribe to.

The bot's list is based on reading lemmyverse.net, sorting the resulting communities by (MAU divided by subscriber count), and posting the highest-ranking one that hasn't yet been printed.

It also reads Mbin and Piefed communities.

Enjoy!

MODERATORS

Hey everyone. I thought it would be nice to keep a running list of generally high-quality communities available on Lemmy.

Probably I'm not the first person who has thought of this, but I haven't actually seen one. If this is useful, let me know, and I can keep it updated, or let me know any additions you think would be useful.

Going to refer to that post with the 20 active communities that are not news, politics, tech or memes: https://feddit.org/post/6554534

Great!

Edit: I just see [email protected] potentially missing

There's also [email protected] which could be interesting to add

Done. That's an extremely rare example, as far as I can tell, of a "funny" community that is actually entertaining. IDK if this is just prejudice left over from what happened to the Reddit one, but I normally don't enjoy them even a little bit. But I like that one.

We really do our best to post actually funny content, especially compared to the memes community that tend to be political opinions hidden

MEMES, SOCIAL MEDIA REPOSTS, AND HUMOR (NON-POLITICAL)

Most of these are currently active. (except for the ones with a * which were less active last I checked). Sometimes politics sneaks in but that's not the focus.
