Not good enough. His personal wealth is still backed by his ownership in Tesla stocks, and he'll keep profiting and using them to bankroll his fascist fuckery and geopolitical interference.

Force him to sell his shares and divest.

Exactly. I don’t care who the CEO is while he continues to own a large chunk of the company. Buying Tesla is supporting one of the most public Nazis of our time. Tesla is, effectively, a Nazi car company.

As long as he still owns the significant number of shares of that company, I’m not buying a Tesla. Let shareholders know that a Nazi leader is a financial death sentence to the maximum extent possible.

Even if he sells all of his shares, the brand would continue to be tainted for years.

Any ceo is just going to be a puppet for Musk anyway.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

You mean let him divest his interest and responsibility for a profit? That would be nothing but beneficial for him.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 18 hours ago

Well, he'd finally have to pay taxes on that then.

It's better than letting him milk it from the shadows.

With the way he's set up his own companies to benefit from DOGE "inefficiency" fixes and government contracts, Tesla has a safety net and path to perceived growth. And unfortunately, the public has a short memory. If he leaves and decides to stop interfering with global politics for a while and people move on to boycotting something else, Tesla's already-overvalued hype stock will have a chance to recover even more.

It's also against his interests to sell his Tesla stock since he used it to help secure those massive loans when buying Twitter. If he's forced to divest, he would actually have to eat that massive multi-billion loss in a tangible way.

Anyhow, I brought up the idea more so as a reminder that we must not stop with the boycotts until he does finally sell. While he still gains personal wealth from the company, it's not enough for him to just step down as CEO.

I am not optimistic. Elon and his brother own majority in the board.

This is all smoke and mirrors. Board opens search for a replacement. Go through the motions of finding a replacement. Delay. Delay. Delay.

Then on a particularly active news cycle, report search has failed, and it gets buried beneath the bullshit that Orangatuan administration did that week.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 20 hours ago

I’m not buying this story either. The board is fully controlled by Musk.

Yep, a brother (Kimbal) and a sister (Tosca).

There's also the whole thing with his stepsister (his father's stepdaughter) being the mother of his father's children.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

… his dad fucked the step kid you mean? Was that his mother or…

In the early 1990s, Errol, then aged 45, married Heide Bezuidenhout, a 25-year old he described as "one of the best looking women I've ever seen in my life". Heidi's daughter Jana Bezuidenhout, then four, became Errol's stepdaughter, and later his romantic partner (and subsequently mother of two children together). Errol and Heidi also had two children of their own.

In March 2018, it was reported that Errol had fathered a child with his adult step-daughter Jana Bezuidenhout. In July 2022, Errol gave an interview to the tabloid newspaper The Sun, announcing that he and Jana Bezuidenhout had another child. Musk has a total of seven children, according to People magazine in November 2022. Errol once commented, "The only thing we are on Earth for is to reproduce."

Elon is older than the stepsister his dad impregnated, she’s 37 years old. Her mother had children by Musk’s father as well, so that is one weird family tree.

Unless he sold all his shares...well I still wouldn't buy a Tesla, they're anti Right to Repair and anti union.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 19 hours ago

This and they'd have to stay that way for at least a year first (though I'm more interested in the powerwall than vehicles).

[–] [email protected] 22 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

On the Q1 earnings call last week, Musk confirmed he would soon spend most of his time at Tesla again. That news, and Musk's optimism about Tesla's self-driving efforts, helped buoyed TSLA stock.

Lol! How are people this gullible? Tesla will never be fully self-driving. Not without a lot of dead pedestrians in its wake, at least.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Didn't you hear? Trump's administration is redefining "full self driving" for Tesla:

Consumer Reports noted that under the new rules, vehicles with advanced driver assistance systems like Tesla Autopilot will not need to report crashes using the system unless it involves a fatality, an injured person requiring hospitalization, a pedestrian being struck, or an air bag deployment.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

They're also making sure Tesla is excluded from the tariffs that it seems every other car manufacturer will be having to pay for parts and materials.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 20 hours ago

I haven't looked up the details, but apparently Trump went to Michigan this week to announce some kind of tariff reduction to Detroit.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

ABOUT FUCKING TIME.

I'll believe it when I actually see it happen.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 19 hours ago

Yeah, I’ll believe it when it happens.

Friedman doctrine is absolutely toxic as fuck. It’s so bad.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 20 hours ago

Changing CEOs to right the ship is what real companies do, and it can be effective. Tesla is a meme stock. It’s a hype machine designed to overpromise and underdeliver. Tesla is made of smoke and mirrors built around once-promising tech that was subverted for the interests of the VC parasite class.

Even if the board actually makes a move on Musk, they’re going to replace him with another money guy who cuts actual tech to pump up sales and marketing and drives more investing dollars into the black hole.

Granted, the next guy would almost certainly be better for the company than musk, given his mountain of bad press. But if Tesla actually wanted to make a real move, appoint an actual Tesla to run the company instead of another Edison.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 20 hours ago

The Tesla brand needs to die. Any company/organization that outs itself as Nazi sympathizers needs to just die.

On top of that we need to follow the money. Do the Nazi sympathizers open shop under a new name?

Reminder, Fuck Nazi’s. It is that simple.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 19 hours ago

This will be very interesting and entertaining to watch…🍿

[–] [email protected] 4 points 19 hours ago

And yet Tesla decided to stick with the neo-Nazi at the helm.

Good luck with that.

[–] ininewcrow 3 points 20 hours ago

Why don't they get Trump to do it? It would probably improve the American government to distract him for a while.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 21 hours ago

me me! pick me!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe Steve Bannon? Still nazi-like but not throwing up actual sieg heils.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Bannon was one of the trend chasers that decided they were at the out and proud Nazi phase and followed suit. Still kind of feeling it out, but definitely not an accident.

[–] floofloof 3 points 20 hours ago

The limpest Nazi salute in all of Naziland.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

It’s weird that he and Elon despise each other whilst simultaneously each being such racist twat waffles.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 20 hours ago

They're both fighting for the same niche. Sort of like Lauren Boebert and MTG. The whole operation has never been a team effort, just a bunch of self-serving assholes trying to get their own grift on.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 19 hours ago

Puts on TSLA.

Buy TSLZ.

Wow. Tesla is nothing without their Nazi. This is gonna get fun.

I've been suggesting it for over a year. They'll get rid of Elon and sell off their charging infrastructure to either an existing energy company (ExxonMobil) or a competitor like Chargepoint.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 19 hours ago

Excellent! I'm looking for a new job. 😉
